ABOUT MADALITSO BAND

“Intuitive, authentic, and full of ruthless rhythms, Madalitso will make you clap,
dance, smile and dance some more.” It's been an extraordinary few years for
this dance folk duo, who until 2017, hadn't left their native Malawi. The decade
spent roaming the streets as a pair, and perfecting their home-made
instruments and vibrant playing style, seems to have paid off - since their first
performance on an international stage at Sauti Za Busara in Zanzibar 7 years
ago, the rollercoaster ride hasn't stopped!
After 7 European tours, with concerts at WOMAD, Roskilde and WOMEX, in
April 2023 the band finally put together their first national tour of Malawi followed by the first tour of the USA. With all these performances - 400 international concerts since 2017 - the band
is gradually growing a small but dedicated fanbase from all corners of the globe.
With a documentary of their journey 'The Banjo Boys' winning Audience choice for best film at the premiere at London Breeze Film Festival, plus a new album with their Geneva based label Bongo Joe, perhaps now is the time to step up to another level!

We actually already won an award - best film - audience choice at The London Breeze Fim Festival where we held the world premiere...

We really need some support though to raise funds to make sure it gets the exposure it needs. We are in need of the first $7,000 ASAP to get critics to the North American Premiere on 4th December.
